Colin Thompson Band
Bio

"Virginia Roots Rock N Blues." Colin Thompson was washed in the blood of American roots music from the time he could crawl. The 20 year old son of acclaimed Americana music artist Randy Thompson has toured Europe three times, received rave national and international reviews, and won numerous guitar competitions.
His playing has been heard on satellite and terrestrial radio all over the US, Europe, and Australia. Already a seasoned performer at 20 years old, he has developed a roots/blues/rockin style all his own. While he often gets compared by the press to other great slide guitar players (Sonny Landreth, Duane Allman, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks) his playing is a fresh and unique combination of all his influences mixed with is own unique spin.
At age 14 and again at age 15 he won the Mid - Atlantic States Guitar Center’s Guitarmagedon National Blues Guitar championship. A year later formed his own band (The Colin Thompson Band) with fellow Virginians Mike Calve and Stephen Lieske on bass and drums. The band has been turning in live performances and inspiring reviews that are building a critical buzz and an unstoppable momentum.
He has been reviewed by the Associated Press and No Depression describing his guitar style as “Inventive” and “Vibrant”.
The bands’ debut self titled debut EP released in 2010 was described by ‘The Alternate Root’ magazine as,
...incendiary, jaw dropping guitar wizardry....
